Additional Information
Chris represents clients in financial fraud, insurance recovery, fiduciary duty, asset recovery, real estate and commercial litigation. A major focus of his practice is representing receivers and bankruptcy trustees, recovering assets that have been transferred or hidden. Chris also has served as a receiver.

Chris started his practice as a clerk for a United States District Court Judge in Kansas City. He and his wife-to-be moved to Washington, D.C., where he practiced at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, the oldest law firm in the United States. He began his career at CWT representing investment bank lenders in commercial real estate finance transactions.

After the market crash, Chris transitioned to patent litigation (and became a licensed patent lawyer), white-collar corporate investigations, and commercial finance. He then went to work for the United States Department of Justice in the areas of tax liability, fraudulent tax shelters, and corporate directors’ and officers’ liability.

Chris was born in Topeka, Kansas and went to the University of Kansas, obtaining an undergraduate degree in biochemistry & philosophy, followed by a master’s degree in statistical ecology from the University of Oregon. He obtained his law degree from the University of Kansas in 2003, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the University of Kansas Law Review and was Order of the Coif.

He has been named “Best of Bar” in Kansas City by a vote of fellow attorneys and was a member of the 2014 Class of Centurions Leaders Program, Kansas City Chamber of Commerce. Outside the office, Chris enjoys cooking and wine and loves watching his daughter and son play sports.
