Tom McNamara has been appointed receiver or monitor dozens of times by United States District Courts across the country in regulatory enforcement actions brought by the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Federal Trade Commission, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, and numerous state regulatory agencies. These appointments have involved a broad range of businesses, including investment companies, Ponzi schemes, law firms, health supplement manufacturers, student loan modification operations, and consumer product distributors. Mr. McNamara was a federal prosecutor for 11 years for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of California, focusing on major economic crimes and public corruption. He was awarded the U.S. Department of Justice Director’s Award on two separate occasions.
