Gabriel Rubio is an Asset Manager specializing in receivership, distressed assets, property stabilization, and value preservation. He supports court-appointed receivers in taking control of complex real estate and business assignments, restoring financial and operational oversight, identifying immediate risks, and developing practical strategies to move assets toward stabilization and resolution.
He brings more than 18 years of commercial real estate experience and has contributed to the management and oversight of more than $900 million in assets across office, retail, industrial, medical office, flex, and multifamily properties.
His background in asset and property management gives him a practical understanding of how financial decisions, leasing activity, deferred maintenance, tenant obligations, and day-to-day operations affect an asset’s performance and value. That experience is particularly valuable in receivership assignments, where information may be incomplete, operations may be distressed, and decisions must be made quickly and with careful consideration of lender, legal, and property-level priorities.
Gabriel’s experience includes budgeting and forecasting, cash-flow analysis, financial reporting, leasing strategy, lease administration, CAM reconciliations, expense recovery, capital planning, tenant improvements, vendor procurement, operational risk management, and property-management transitions.
In receivership assignments, Gabriel works closely with receivers, lenders, special-assets professionals, attorneys, property managers, leasing teams, consultants, tenants, and other stakeholders. He is particularly effective at organizing complex information, identifying the issues affecting an asset, establishing priorities, and translating financial and operational findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
Gabriel approaches each assignment with an owner-oriented mindset and a strong understanding of lender priorities, collateral preservation, liquidity, accountability, and exit strategy. His focus is on creating structure, improving visibility, addressing risk, and helping move each assignment toward a defined resolution.
He holds an Executive MBA from Pepperdine University’s Graziadio Business School and a Bachelor of Science in Managerial Economics from the University of California Davis
