Full Membership is limited to those individuals who have: (1) been appointed as a federal equity receiver in a matter of material size and complexity; or (2) served in a significant role as a professional for a federal equity receiver in a matter of material size and complexity. “Professional” means one: (i) who has advanced, unique, or specialized skills (e.g., lawyers, accountants, financial or business advisors, tax advisors or qualified settlement fund administrators, and the like) through education or training (e.g., post-graduate educational degree or certification); (ii) who has significant experience; and (iii) for whom Court approval is, typically, obtained prior to engagement of the professional. “Significant,” with respect to experience, means that the professional does not require supervision when acting as a professional for the receiver, but rather has the experience and skill to: (i) directly advise the receiver or respond to the receivership court; (ii) supervise other professionals working on federal receivership matters; and (iii) exercise independent professional judgment to directly advise the receiver in fulfilling his or her duties in the receivership. “Material size and complexity,” with respect to a federal receivership, means a matter that is neither short, simple, nor otherwise limited in nature such that it can be accomplished by a receiver or professional who lacks substantial experience. A Young Professional option is available for any qualifying full member 40 and under. Full member dues are $575 per year.
